How does credit recovery work? Students enrolling in one or more correspondence courses receive program materials by mail. They complete the course work, including assignments, and mail it back. Our evaluators assign a pass/fail grade. Students enrolling in online courses receive an email with instructions on how to access their courses. They submit quizzes and tests online and get immediate feedback with the exception of English, where some writing assignments will be teacher graded. What's the cost? Correspondence courses are $109 per unit of content + $5 for shipping & handling. Online courses are offered for $109 for Part A or Part B or $129 for both Part A and Part B of a subject. How long does it take for students to get program materials? Correspondence course materials will arrive in 5-7 days. Express mail can be requested for an additional charge and should arrive in 1-3 days. For online courses all course materials are available online and students will receive an email with instructions on how to access their courses within 1 business day. How do enroll my child in Keystone Credit Recovery courses?
1. Fill out the enrollment form.
Keystone Credit Recovery How quickly can the units be completed? Correspondence units take an average of 30-40 hours to complete while online units take 60-75 hours (Part A or Part B), or 120-140 hours if the student needs both Part A and Part B. How much time does a student have to complete a unit or multiple units? For correspondence courses, single units are due in six weeks. Students must keep the materials for a minimum of 3 weeks. Students enrolling in more than one unit will have one additional week per unit. For example, students enrolled in 3 units will have an 8-week due date. For online courses, single units (Part A or B) must be completed in a minimum of 4 weeks and a maximum of 8 weeks. Students combining units (Parts A and B combined) must complete the course work in a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 12 weeks. Are there deadline extensions? TThe assigned due date is a major student responsibility, and 99% of our enrollees complete their units on time. Keystone will extend the due date one week, if the student or parent/guardian contacts Keystone BEFORE the assigned due date. However, from May 15 through June 15, and from August 15 through September 15, Keystone will extend due dates only if requested by the student's counselor. Is there academic support? It is the responsibility of the student and parents to make sure the work is getting done in a timely way. Students can submit academic questions via email and will receive an answer within 1 business day. How are grades reported? Once the course has been scored, one report will be sent to the student’s home and one to the guidance counselor at the school of record. However, your school can opt at the time of enrollment to be the only recipient of grades. What kind of grade will my child end up with? Because Keystone Credit Recovery is meant to close the failure gap for a course already taken at your school, the student’s grade is at the discretion of your school official. Keystone assigns a Pass/Fail grade for correspondence courses, and a numerical grade for online courses. Is information available online? Yes. Our website is www.creditmakeup.com.
